Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Commission (SAFE)

The purpose of the Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Commission is to a.) Establish mandatory statewide protocols for conducting sexual assault forensic examinations and work with county prosecutors to convene and chair local Sexual Assault Forensic Examination Boards; and set minimum requirements for local plans developed by county or regional boards; and approve county plans b.) Establish a basic standard of care for victims of sexual assault; c.) Authorize minimum training requirements; and d.) Collect data to identify and improve the collection of evidence.
